Gingr alternatives, compared

Gingr is facility software. It manages runs, kennels, capacity limits, feeding schedules and the operational reality of a building full of animals. Pricing starts around $95/mo and rises with facility size, which is what sends most people looking for alternatives.

Read this before the table: the split that matters isn't price, it's whether you need run and suite assignment and occupancy management. Gingr, PetExec and Paw Partner do that. The lighter options don't — they handle scheduling, billing, client communication and reporting instead. Plenty of boarding businesses only need the second group. Work out which half you're buying before you compare monthly prices.

Disclosure: we make Nuzzo, one of the five options below, and it's the one least suited to a facility. We've said so plainly rather than burying it.

First decide which category you're in

You have a building with kennels or runs. You need capacity management, occupancy views and per-run assignment. Realistically that means Gingr, PetExec or Paw Partner. Switching to lighter software means tracking occupancy on paper, and people who try it usually come back.

You're mobile, or you groom out of a small shop. You're paying for facility features you'll never open. A grooming-first tool like MoeGo, or flat-rate software like Nuzzo, will cost a fraction of it.

The category mismatch, not the monthly price, is what makes Gingr feel expensive. Sort that first.

A little more on each

Paw Partner

The most direct Gingr competitor on price, and the one most people land on. Flat rate rather than scaled by size — around $44.99/mo if you only groom or train, around $99.99/mo once boarding and daycare are involved. Worth a demo against Gingr specifically; the feature gap is narrower than the price gap suggests.

PetExec

Long-established multi-service facility software covering boarding, daycare, grooming and training. Pricing isn't published, which makes comparison shopping harder — you'll need to sit through a call. Generally regarded as deep but dated.

MoeGo

Not a facility replacement, but the strongest option if grooming is the actual business and boarding is incidental. Priced per van for mobile groomers and per location for salons. Note that its lower tiers cap how many texts you can send per month.

Nuzzo

Ours. $29/mo solo or $79/mo for a team of up to 5 — scheduling, invoicing, a magic-link client portal, photo report cards, size-based grooming prices, multi-pet bookings, recurring schedules, an embeddable booking widget and staff roles, all phone-first. What it doesn't do is run and suite assignment or occupancy management. If that's the part you need, use Gingr or PetExec. If your building runs fine on a whiteboard and the actual pain is scheduling, billing and keeping owners updated, Nuzzo covers it at a fraction of the price — some facilities run this way quite happily.

When Gingr is worth the money

  • You're at the capacity where double-booking a run costs you real money. Occupancy management is the whole point of the product.
  • You run several services under one roof — boarding, daycare, grooming, training — and want them in one system rather than three.
  • You have staff who need role-scoped access and shift-level visibility across a busy floor.
  • Your monthly software cost is small next to your facility overhead. At that scale, switching to save $60/mo is not where your margin is.
