Time To Pet is the default choice in pet-care software for a reason — it's mature, well supported, and does almost everything. Most people looking for an alternative aren't unhappy with the product. They're unhappy with what it costs once they add staff.

The real fork: per-staff fee or team-size bands
Feature lists across these products look remarkably similar — scheduling, invoicing, client portals, visit reports. The difference that actually shows up in your bank account is how they charge.
Time To Pet and Scout charge a base fee plus a rate per staff member. That's reasonable if each walker earns you more than they cost, and it's how most business software is sold. But it means your software bill grows every time you hire, and it makes a part-time weekend helper a recurring line item.
Precise Petcare and Nuzzo price by team size band instead. Precise Petcare steps up at set staff counts ($20 solo, $45 for 2 to 5, $90 for 6 to 10, and so on). Nuzzo has two plans: $29 for the owner alone and $79 for the owner plus up to five workers. Within a band, adding a person doesn't change the bill.
So the honest question isn't “which is best” — it's how many people will touch this software, and how much of Time To Pet's depth do you actually use?

The closest like-for-like swap. Same shape as Time To Pet, a base fee plus a per-staff rate: $39/mo solo, or $39/mo plus $18 per active staff on monthly billing ($33 plus $15 billed annually). Unlimited clients, native apps, GPS if you enable it, photo check-ins, report cards and integrated payroll. No card is needed for the trial.
Precise Petcare
The budget pick: $20/mo solo and $45/mo for 2 to 5 staff, with every feature on every plan. The price steps up in bands as your staff count grows ($90 for 6 to 10, $160 for 11 to 20, and so on). It includes a client portal, iOS and Android apps, GPS with a live sitter map, SMS, photo journals and payroll, and has a 30-day free trial with no card.
PetPocketbook
Billing-focused software for solos and small teams. We haven't re-verified its current pricing, so check their site and compare total cost, including any fees on client payments, not just the monthly line.
Easy Busy Pets
A different category: an all-in-one platform that bundles a marketing website and CRM alongside scheduling. We haven't re-verified its current pricing, so ask them directly for a quote. Worth it mainly if you genuinely want your website and software from the same vendor.

Bookings with recurring schedules, multi-pet visits, overnight stays with a live photo feed, photo report cards, a magic-link client portal, an embeddable booking widget, staff roles, and invoices payable by Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, Cash App or card — you keep 100% of your rate either way. The gaps worth knowing: no GPS visit tracking, no SMS, no app store app, no payroll, and accounting is QuickBooks-ready CSV export on Team rather than a live two-way sync. When Time To Pet is still the right call
Switching costs are real — migrating clients, pets, schedules and billing history is a weekend you don't get back. Stay put if:
- You run a team of several sitters and the per-staff fee is a small fraction of what each one earns you.
- You depend on GPS visit tracking, QuickBooks sync, or their native mobile apps. Time To Pet's depth is genuinely ahead of the cheaper options, ours included.
- You value responsive support from an established company with years of track record.
- Your team already knows it. Retraining people on new software costs more than most of these price differences.
